Ready to see landscapes straight out of a dream? We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Barreirinhas in an off-roading vehicle and set off on an adventure of around an hour and a half toward Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
We’ll cross the Preguiças River, heading into a place that feels like another planet. Little by little, the scenery will shift from riverside vegetation to vast stretches of fine white sand. Did you know these dunes move several meters every year, driven by the trade winds? The feeling is almost lunar.
Next, we’ll head into the heart of the park, where the famous lagoons will appear before us. Preguiça, Esmeralda, da Paz, do Peixe… these small oases sparkle in the sunlight like diamonds. Fed only by rainwater, their colors range from emerald green to the most vivid turquoise you can imagine. Perfect photo moment.
Throughout the tour, we’ll stop at different scenic spots, giving you time to swim in the lagoons and walk across the dunes. When it’s time to eat, we’ll stop at a local restaurant so you can buy some lunch if you wish.
To end the day, we’ll climb one of the large dunes of Lençóis Maranhenses to watch the sunset. The sun slowly sinks, painting the dunes in golden tones and turning the lagoons into mirrors.
After a total of 8 hours, we’ll drop you back at your hotel. Until next time!
