After meeting at the indicated time at Veliera Square, we'll start our free tour of Durres. Are you ready to discover the attractions of this port city on the Adriatic Sea?
Our first stop will be the vibrant Byzantine Forum, the former Byzantine Roman centre of the ancient city of Dyrrhachium or Dyrrah. We'll then head to the majestic Amphitheatre of Durres.
We'll continue our tour outside the Durres Archaeological Museum, where we'll discover treasures that reveal the region's rich history. Afterwards, we'll head to the Alexander Moisiu Cultural Centre, a space dedicated to contemporary Albanian art and culture.
Our next destination is the Top Hane Well, an architectural marvel in the shape of a well. Nearby, we'll find the charming Santa Lucia Catholic Church, the oldest church in the city. We'll also see The Beauty of Durrës, an impressive masterpiece dating back to the 4th century BC.
We'll continue our journey exploring the Byzantine walls that surround the city before immersing ourselves in history at the Roman Baths and the Venetian Tower. We'll then approach the Fatih Mosque and the Residence of King Zog I, a testament to the region's royal past.
