When booking, you can choose from one of the following options, depending on the time of day you’d like to take the boat trip in Hamburg and its duration. All options include an audio guide in English to make your experience cruising along the River Elbe even more enjoyable.
Below, we’ve outlined the details of each option:
At the indicated time, we'll meet at St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, ready to board the boat and begin our adventure.
As our route is tide-dependent, we'll either sail along the narrow canals of the Speicherstadt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015, or the wider harbour waters, ensuring we get the best possible views. On either route, as the hour sails by, we'll be captivated by Hamburg's vibrant skyline, learning about the landmarks we see with the help of an audio guide in English.
No matter which route we take, we'll sit back and relax as we enjoy breathtaking views of the city’s iconic landmarks, like the Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg or St. Catherine’s Church. We'll also see the striking Elbphilharmonie, or “Elphi,” Hamburg’s celebrated concert hall. With its wave-like glass design, this architectural marvel is sure to captivate as we glide past.
Along the tour, we’ll also pass by Hamburg’s distinctive red-brick warehouses, designed by renowned artist Michael Batz, which create a mesmerising sight as their reflections shimmer on the water’s surface. If you choose the evening light tour, the glow of the port itself—one of the largest ports in the world—will add to the magic of the experience, transforming the cityscape into a glittering sea of lights.
Lastly, we'll pass historic shipyards, either Norderwerft or Blohm & Voss, where we'll delve into their fascinating histories and learn about their modern operations, adding a unique touch to our evening journey.
Finally, after an hour in total, we'll return to the starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes.
Tour Route: Regardless of the time you choose, the 1-hour tour route will depend on the tides. We'll either follow the red or the blue route, as seen in the following map: Hamburg Cruise Routes.
If you have more time and would like to enjoy a longer tour, this is the one for you! We'll spend a little more time exploring the history of the monuments mentioned above, and you’ll also have the chance to disembark and finish the tour at the Elba Philharmonic Hall.
This tour takes place at sunset. When the tide allows, the boat navigates the canals of the historic warehouse district, with its bridges and office buildings magically illuminated.
