On this day trip to Fátima from Lisbon, you’ll be amazed by the mysticism surrounding one of the most significant Marian sanctuaries in the world.
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at a central location in Lisbon and head toward the town of Fátima. Ready to discover one of the most significant Marian pilgrimage centers in the world?
Next, we’ll arrive at the Fátima complex, where we’ll visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. This neo-Baroque temple houses the tombs of the 3 shepherds. You’ll be impressed by its frescoes and stained-glass windows depicting the life of the Virgin Mary.
After that, we’ll visit the heart of the sanctuary: the Chapel of the Apparitions, the exact place where it’s said the Virgin appeared to the children. It’s the most iconic spot and ideal for prayer or quiet reflection.
We’ll then enter the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity. You’ll contrast tradition with modernity when visiting this church, one of the largest in the world, known for its minimalist design.
Before returning, you’ll have 1 hour of free time to stroll around the extensive sanctuary grounds, visit the wax museum, attend one of the regularly held Masses, or try some local cuisine.
Finally, we’ll return to the starting point, where we’ll say goodbye after a total of 5 to 6 hours.
