Tzintzuntzan, Santa Fe de la Laguna, & Pátzcuaro
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Morelia and set off to visit some of the most interesting places in Michoacán.
First, we'll stop in Santa Fe de la Laguna. As we walk the streets of this historic town and see the pottery workshops and the women's colourful traditional clothing, we'll see how the indigenous Purhepecha customs live on here.
You'll also have 30 minutes of free time to get some food in Santa Fe de la Laguna. Afterwards, we'll head towards the Magical Village of Tzintzuntzan, where we'll visit the archaeological site of the most important city in the Purhepecha Empire. We'll learn all about its history as we discover the yácatas, the ceremonial centre and the ruins of temples such as Curicaueri.
In Tzintzuntzan, we'll also admire the former Franciscan Convent of Santa Ana, the plateresque Church of San Francisco de Asis and the baroque-style Church of La Soledad.
We'll then set off for the last destination of the day: Pátzcuaro, a Magical Village with over 500 years of history. We'll stroll through its cobblestone roads and travel back in time by admiring the different Baroque and Neo-Classical churches, as well as its squares and adobe and tile houses.
Finally, we'll return to Morelia, where you will arrive at your hotel 10 hours later.
