On this bike tour from Nova Petrópolis, we'll discover the natural landscapes of Nove Colônias & taste some regional delicacies with a picnic at the Casa Sander winery.
Nove Colônias Bike Tour + Picnic at Casa Sander
At the appointed time we'll meet you on Avenida Presidente Getúlio Vargas in Nova Petrópolis. From there, we'll take you to the starting point of this bike tour through Nove Colônias. Ready to roll?
The route will have a length of 28 kilometers (17 miles) and an elevation gain of 600 meters (1,968 feet). Along the way, we'll ride on dirt roads and admire the landscapes of the area. The perfect tour for nature lovers!
Our first stop along the route will be at a thousand-year-old pine tree that proudly stands 45 meters (147 feet) high. It'll come as no surprise that this tree is one of the city's most important natural attractions. It's about 1,300 years old!
Our tour continues with a visit to the church in Plaza Theodor Amstad. Did you know that this is known as the cradle of Brazilian cooperativism? This is where the first line of credit in Latin America appeared in 1902.
We'll then pedal our way to Nove Colônias along unpaved roads and, after 15 kilometers (9.3 miles), we'll stop at the Casa Sander winery. There we'll take a break to enjoy a picnic that includes refreshing drinks accompanied by toast with jam, all surrounded by vineyards and blueberry plantations.
Afterward, we'll visit a cheese factory and the historic houses of this rural town. Then, we'll take a different route back to the starting point so that you can continue marveling at the landscapes of southern Brazil.
We'll conclude the tour after about four hours of activity.
