Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Progreso and make our way to the Ría Celestun Biosphere Reserve, one of the most iconic destinations in Yucatán.
After a 1.5-hour journey, we'll get to Celestún. Here, we'll board a boat and embark on a 2.5-hour route through the mangroves, the lagoons and the sea.
During the boat ride, you'll have the opportunity to observe a large variety of birds that live in this area such as the famous pink flamingos as well as pelicans, herons and many other species. Don't forget your camera!
Additionally, we'll explore the canals of the mangroves where, with a little bit of luck, we'll see crocodiles and turtles. If the conditions allow, you'll also be able to enjoy a dip in the middle of nature in a natural pool of crystal-clear water.
After exploring the mangroves, we'll head to Celestún Beach, located a 30-minute drive away, where you'll have 2.5 hours of free time. You'll be able to relax on the sand, swim in the sea and grab yourself a delicious lunch in any of the local restaurants.
Finally, we'll return to Progreso and say our goodbyes at your hotel after 9 hours in total.
