On this day trip to Cotopaxi National Park from Quito, you'll feel like real riders as you ride horses with views of snow-capped volcanoes. You'll experience the Andean páramo at its finest!
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the hotel in Quito that you choose when booking. From there, we'll set off on this day trip to Cotopaxi National Park, in central Ecuador, traveling along the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes.
After a 1.5-hour journey, we'll arrive at our destination. We'll start the adventure with a 40-minute walk to the Cotopaxi volcano glacier, located at 4864 meters (15958 feet) above sea level. For 30 minutes, we'll take in the impressive Andean landscapes around us while recharging our energy.
With batteries recharged, we'll descend to the starting point of the horse ride. There, we'll get ready with the necessary equipment while giving you some brief safety instructions. Then, we'll be ready to start riding.
You'll ride on horseback along trails next to small rivers. This 1-hour route will offer a different perspective of the Cotopaxi and Rumiñahui volcanoes, and you'll be able to observe Andean flora and fauna, including llamas and alpacas.
At the end of the horse ride in Cotopaxi, we'll take you to Limpiopungo Lagoon for a 30-minute walk around its surroundings, admiring water birds and enjoying the tranquility of this majestic place.
Afterwards, we'll go to a restaurant, where you'll have 1 hour of free time to have lunch and try some Ecuadorian cuisine.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point in Quito, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 10 hours.
