On this day trip to Bernal and Cadereyta, we'll discover two of the most charming Pueblo Mágicos in Querétaro. We'll also visit the Freixenet winery, famous for its sparkling wines. A combination of history, unique landscapes and authentic flavours await!
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the commercial walkway of Vista Hermosa. After introductions, we'll get into a vehicle to start our day trip to Bernal and Cadereyta.
In just 40 minutes, we'll arrive at the charming Pueblo Mágico of Bernal, where we'll be greeted by the impressive silhouette of the Peña de Bernal, one of the world's biggest monoliths and a symbol of the region. As we walk through its cobbled streets and its historic centre for 1.5 hours, we'll hear anecdotes, legends and curiosities that have shaped the identity of this destination full of history, tradition and colonial beauty. You'll be captivated from the get-go!
Our next stop will take us to Freixenet Winery, one of the most prestigious wine producers in the region. 25 metres (82 feet) underground, we'll take a guided tour of the facilities for an hour and 15 minutes while we learn about the process of making their sparkling wines. And, of course, we won't miss out on having a glass to toast and savour their exquisite product. Cheers!
After this moment, we'll head to the charming Pueblo Mágico of Cadereyta. There, we'll enter a greenhouse specialised in cactus vegetation from the semi-desert of Querétaro. Cacti and succulents of all shapes and sizes will show us a different and fascinating side of Mexican flora.
As every great adventure deserves a good reward, we'll sit at the table to taste the traditional nopal en penca, a typical dish of the region that is served accompanied by a molcajete overflowing with parrillada mixed grill and other delicacies of Mexican cuisine. An explosion of flavours that will impress you from the first bite.
To bring the day to an end, we'll visit a cosy tasting room where we'll be able to taste artisanal products made with native fruits of the region: sauces, liqueurs, dressings and many more surprises. Without a doubt, the perfect opportunity to take a little piece of Querétaro home with you.
Finally, we'll return to Tequisquiapan and say goodbye at the starting point after an 8-hour day trip.
