At the indicated time, we'll meet across from the Bell Tower Hotel, from which point we'll walk to the popular Muslim Quarter - renowned for of its wonderful cuisine.
After some brief introductions, we'll enter the Muslim Quarter to visit its main street food stalls, which offer an amazing fusion of Middle Eastern and Chinese cuisine, creating a wonderful mixture of textures, flavours and aromas which will make your mouth water!
In order to get the full experience, we'll go to several street stalls offering Moroccan skewers - at each one, you'll be able to choose the meat/portion size you would like. These skewers are accompanied by various incredible sauces, ranging from typical recipes from Arab cuisine to quintessential Chinese ones.
You'll also find that there are a number of great noodle spots in this area. Over the course of the walk, we'll see how the merchants stretch the noodle - it can often reach several metres in length. This noodle is used to make wholesome soups and vegetable stews, which you can taste along the way!
During the food tour, you'll get to sample between four and five small local dishes. Highlights include Liang Pi (spicy cold noodles), Yang Rou Pao Mo (mutton soup with pieces of bread), Hui Fang Kao Rou (grilled meat skewers), and Suan Tang Shui Jiao (hot and sour dumpling soup). You might also try Shanxi noodles, Zeng Gao (sweet rice cake), or some refreshing plum syrup.
After 2 hours, we'll conclude the tour at the starting point.
